Me in my "Blue Coat" with
Name Tag and Ear Piece.
Hello, My name is Ian and I'm a Criminal Justice Management Major at Nichols College. I've been studying there for three years now, and hope to one day work in Security or Law Enforcement. I was born and raised in Thompson, CT and have been taught from day one that it is important to help others, no matter the personal cost. I took on the Internship at Mohegan Sun because I thought it would be an excellent learning experience for me, and I can sit here today certain that it was.

While working at the Casino I was given a plethora of tasks to accomplish, sometimes with little to no supervision. Some good examples would include retrieving ejection forms for an incident which required me to work with another Supervisor to make new forms and return with them in a timely manner. Other tasks include assisting patrons in finding locations and at one time introducing a group of patrons to a part of the Casino they hadn't known existed. Personally my favorite jobs involved working with the Casino's Security Investigators. There I worked to assist in the solving of issues ranging from scamming the Casino to thefts both within and without the Casino. Other duties I had involved interviewing people and viewing security footage of suspects. I was also involved in writing reports on what I had done to help with the investigations.

In my personal opinion I would recommend that anyone looking to intern in a big, fast paced environment take on the task of Mohegan Sun Security. The environment is deceptively laid back and the employees are always willing to teach you something. It was an amazing experience for me and one I would suggest every one try at least once in their life if they are interested in Criminal Justice or Security.
